Course description
According to Littré, personality is "what belongs to a person and what makes him him and not someone else". But as a unique entity, personality corresponds to the way a person thinks, reflects, acts and behaves in different situations. The influence of personality on our behaviors, whether positive or negative, our decisions and our health, means that it seems to play an essential role in our life trajectory... It is therefore essential to look at the issues surrounding personality development, both from a constitutional, environmental and educational point of view. In this training course, we will focus on both the main characteristics or dimensions that define a normal personality, and on pathological personalities. In the case of the latter, we will focus on the criteria that define an enduring and rigid mode of functioning, resulting in either significant suffering for the individual or for those around him/her. In particular, we will examine pathological personalities from the perspective of psychocriminology.

1 - Define personality and distinguish it from temperament and character.
